Dr Samie is a corrosion specialist with over 10 years experience in the engineering and consultancy sector providing services in the fields of integrity and corrosion management, risk assessment and maintenance. Through the years he worked on projects with some of the O&G operators, e.g. BP, Shell, Apache and TAQA. Samie started off in a Swedish Consultancy and Research company (KIMAB) in Stockholm, Sweden, where he was involved in inspections, R&D, coordinating and start up of projects (JIPs), commissioning and consultancy within range of international and national projects.

In the oil & gas industry, where he is working as Senior Materials & Corrosion Engineer, specific areas of technical expertise include Risk Based Assessment (RBA and RBI), corrosion and integrity management of topsides and pipelines pressure systems, fitness for service assessment and future life prediction including key interfaces with integrity team, inspection and process operations and Technical Authorities.

Additional experiences in optimisation of the system using historical and forecast data, coordinate projects both at international and national levels from initial contact through to completion of work, knowledgeable about international and national standards, NDT techniques, making presentations to management and mentoring a small group of technicians.

He is a strong communicator, diligent and conscientious, and understands the broader role corrosion and integrity engineering plays in multi-disciplined projects.
